Copper engraved birdseye of the 1570 seige of the Turkish fort of Maini at Porto Kagio by the Maniots, aided by the Venetian navy. from "Isole Famose, porti, fortezze, e terre Maritime sottoposte alla Ser. ma. Sig. ria di Venetia. " Verso blank. The scene shows the Turkish forces within the castle being beseiged by the Maniots from the land with the Venatian fleet in the bay. Printed annotations within the plate. Dark impression, some spotting, mainly to margins: printed somewhat crooked on the page; upper margin 4-10mm

In the late 1560s and 1570s many Atlases were issued in Venice in loose sheets assembled to order. or as a more or less uniform collection of maps with printed title page.
Camocio issued several "Isolario" during the period 1566 -1575. He died in the plague outbrake in Venice in 1575.
No further atlases appeared under his imprint however many of the plates passed into the stock of Donato Bertelli.
